Are Shower Flies Dangerous?
In most cases, shower flies are not harmful.
They do not bite people or transmit diseases like mosquitoes. However, they should not be ignored.
Their presence often indicates:
- Excess moisture
- Accumulated waste inside drains
- Potential plumbing issues
If the infestation grows, it can quickly become a persistent nuisance.
How to Find Their Breeding Site
One of the easiest methods is the tape test.
Before going to bed:
- Place transparent tape partially over the drain.
- Leave a small opening for air circulation.
- Check the tape the following morning.
If flies are trapped underneath, you've likely identified the source.
