Communities across the western United States remain on high alert as extremely dangerous fire weather returns to the Four Corners region. Meteorologists are warning that hot temperatures, very low humidity, and powerful winds could rapidly intensify existing wildfires while creating ideal conditions for new fires to ignite.
Red Flag Warnings Issued Across Six States
Weather officials have placed parts of six western states under Red Flag Warnings, signaling a heightened risk of rapidly spreading wildfires. The greatest concern is centered on the Four Corners region, including:
- Eastern Utah
- Western Colorado
- Northeastern Arizona
- Northwestern New Mexico
Forecasters have classified the area under the highest fire danger level due to a combination of extreme heat, dry vegetation, and strong winds.
